Parton handpicked her after seeing audition tapes from many young female actresses. She wasn’t the only young soap actress to nail a role in this movie. The young actress who has played Josslyn Jax, Carly and Jax daughter (Hannah Nordberg) was cast to play the part of Dolly’s older sister. Also, playing the part of Dolly’s mother is country music’s own Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland fame. This is the real life story of Dolly Parton and her family while she was growing up.
